Life is short

Emily's Care and Health Spot: Free Meditation Classes ...

There are many ways to view life and i think looking on the bright side is always the better option. Asymetry.

We always have a dialogue within ourselves and impose our thoughts on other people and not by overtly critical. Life is not perfect and we are overly critical of others. Instead I should be focusing on what is good – not what is bad. This will change my mental outlook when I am speaking to people because of my solipsism i think they are also critical of me.

We cannot control people’s reaction so it is better to man and disrupt their frame.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona Film Locations

In the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), Javier Bardem’s Character “Life is short, Life is dull, life is full of pain and this is a chance for something special”

This is another way of phrasing YOLO, but notice that this frame makes you feel a whole lot more spiritual and I think would have a higher chance of success. Javier personifies is the confident artistic charasmatic archetype that is different from the cookie-cutter corporate drones. He is seen as warm and passionate.

We compare this frame to that of logical reasoning – “We should try all things in life so why not.” Notice how this sentence is not persuasive at all. Cold logical reasoning does not sell. We can see this with Vicky’s rebuttal.

I also notice rewatching the clip is to share inspiration, joy and not focus on the bad feelings. “ll show you around the city and we will eat well. we’ll drink good wine and we’ll make love”

3 things tall people don’t understand

Everyone lives in their own world and puts their experiences in the other person they are interracting with. We need empathy to understand the other person’s position.

These are the things that I only realised today

1/ the feeling to have someone taller than you – physical difference

We view the world through only our own eyes and it is hard to take someone elses position. I as a tall person (190cm) am in the top 10% in height? in total population. The population of asians is say 5% = 0.10 x 0.05 = 0.5% and then they have to be 25-35 years old. Which reduces say 30% =

In my anecdotal experience guys that are taller than me = 10? barely any. Therefore the height is a bonus, whilst not the same as being really handsome, it is attractive.

Tall people need to realise that being tall is the same as having big muscle talking to you. It can be intimidating.

2/ Expectation needs to match reality

Think of a small person being quiet and shy, this fits the archetype of a physically weaker individual.  However, do the same with a tall person and these actions are eccentuated. The expectation for you is to be more aggressive and demand what you want. Because back in the day – you could.

For those that are tall and asian – This is further eccentuated because the stereotype of asians are quiet, so you are also operating with that expectation.

3/ People notice it first

Accept that it is one of the first things that people notice, along with race, and that this is how i will always be described.
